Hellooooooo al!
It's me, DiamonEyes
here with a small bit of BIG news
So I'll go ahead and dig right in
Throughout the year that we've existed, we've tried and done many different things and have also discovered our place here on DevainatART as well.
After a bit of consulting with the beautiful team here, we've decided to make some BIG changes:
***"THE JOURNAL REPORT" Folder*** - We have decided to add a folder specifically for journals!
There's been some incredible journals which range from the serious, to the funny, to the very knowledgeable. And of course theres some VERY impressive (and in my opinion, IMPORTANT) feature journals, so we'll be now accepting them. HOWEVER we're in the process of deciding a set of "rules" (aside from the previously established rules) for journals to be accepted.
We'll be taking into account any of your suggestions too
for the guidelines for "The Journal Report". ANY of your participation and suggestions will be taken into consideration.
The big rules for this new folder at this time is "keep it clean", and "no drama".
And if you've written a journal specifically made for stroking your own ego while putting others down, then don't be surprised if we turn you down too
I'll be posting a poll to see what you fine people think about guidelines for the new folder. If you have a Journal that you feel you'd like to share, submit the journal to the "Decide For Me" folder and good luck!
***GOODBYE 'CRITIQUE FEEDBACK' FOLDER! We hardly used thee!***
Part of putting a group together is discovering what works and what doesn't work.
I personally would like to sincerely apologize for us not truly taking advantage of this area.
Something that the team took note of is that
is a PARTY place. A place where artists of all types come to goof-off and have a good time getting to know each other AS WELL as sharing our artwork with each other. I believe that a CRITIQUE is a thing of utmost importance, but the problem we had here is that we have such a massive diversity of artists and art-styles that none of us felt like we were truly in a position to give a critique to the multitudes of styles our members have
So we've decided to drop that folder altogether. We ALL apologize if you submitted there and didn't receive a critique
I personally went ahead and moved the submissions that were in there to the correct folders so that you can still get exposure for that artwork
In the end we here decided that the "Critique" folder didn't really feel like it had a place here in a group where we focus on the social aspect/fun/party-atmosphere.
If any of you DO want a critique from one of us, just send a personal note and make sure that you have your option for "this artist wants a critique" to be visible (if that option is available to ya.)
***ROASTING***
After over a year of prototyping and testing the waters, we're about to fully open up the "ROAST" folder
This folder will be a way for all of us to have fun and bring out another side of our artists here.
The concept will work like the "ROASTINGS" that we see on tv comedies. We have nearly put the final touches on how to handle this category and will go fully live with it within the next weeks
I'll probably make a poll to see what kind of rules you fine people could come up with too. That way we all work as a community to make this category work
So That's it for today's update! I hope you all are having a great weekend and look forward to your new works and opinions with upcoming changes
If theres anything you'd like to add to any of this, please feel free to comment below, or note us! Until next time, have a GREAT day everyone!!
